This seminar takes a practical, case-based approach to two critical aspects of medico-legal practice: claimant preparation and interpreting orthopaedic reports.

Join our upcoming medico-legal seminar and earn 1 CPD point while enhancing your professional knowledge and skills!

Overview:

This seminar combines two essential elements of medico-legal practice: setting the claimant up for a clear and effective assessment, and critically reading the orthopaedic medico-legal report that follows.

Using our ongoing hypothetical claimant, we will explore strategies for preparing claimants to participate in their assessment confidently and accurately—without crossing the line into coaching. Participants will then learn how to unpack the resulting report: identifying structure, key findings, assumptions and limitations, and understanding how these conclusions can impact case strategy outcomes.

By integrating preparation with interpretation, this session provides a practical, start-to-finish understanding of the medico-legal process—equipping lawyers and claims managers with the tools to support claimants, assess reports with confidence, and apply insights directly to their own cases.

Seminar Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Understand the medico-legal process from both claimant and expert perspectives.
  • Prepare claimants effectively for their orthopaedic assessment while respecting professional boundaries.
  • Support claimants to provide accurate, relevant, and consistent information to the expert.
  • Confidently read and interpret orthopaedic medico-legal reports.
  • Identify key findings, limitations, and assumptions, and assess report clarity and relevance.
  • Apply insights from both preparation and interpretation to strengthen case outcomes.
Session Length:

90 minutes.

Please note: Attendance at our previous seminars is not required – this seminar is designed to stand alone and is open to all professionals.
